I have recently returned from the SEOmoz training seminar in London, it was great to listen to different ideas and tips from fellow SEO professionals. The seminar provided me with lots of different insights as to how other SEO’s analyse websites and their SEO strategies.

Although I am very familiar with keyword research and online strategies for large businesses the seminar provided me with even more tips and tricks from fellow SEO’s. I will endevour to implement some of these ideas into my day to day work to improve our clients search engine performance.

The seminar covered many topics including:

  • Keyword Structures
  • Researching keywords
  • Keywords and UGC (User generated content
  • Advanced Analytics
  • New Site SEO
  • Universal Search
  • Link Building
  • Vertical Search
  • Automation in Search
  • Google Local
  • Online Stategies for large businesses
  • Plus many more….

Possibly the best part of the seminar was the questions and answers section, where any SEO could ask the top professionals any question they like. This lead to a debate and answered the questions all of us wanted to know.

The seminar also provided some great figures about search including:

  • Search volumes per continent
  • Spend on search (PPC/SEO
  • Click Through rates
  • Plus many more…

What was interesting is that Europe search more online than the whole of the US, but only by a couple of percent.

I would certainly attend any seminar they hold in the future. As an SEO you have to keep ontop of changes in the industry and what better way than mixing with other SEO professionals from around the world.

I will try to post more information about the seminar in later posts.
